Malcolm is a kind of person who never leaves anything up to chance. His every step, every move, every venture is a subject to careful and reasonable planning. Therefore, he may come out as harsh if something doesn't go like he intended. He can't stand chaos and is very strict when it comes to things he is supposed to coordinate, even if it means being stern towards any subordinates - although having them is not very often an option for him. He's rather introvert, preferring to work alone over people's company. If you manage to break through this mask, however, you'll notice he's actually very passionate about his activities and those he holds dear, maybe a little bit nerdy, caring and capable of deep feelings.

History: Since his youngest years, Malcolm was known around as a dedicated reader. (...or a freak, depending on whom you'd ask). He didn't have any limitations when it comes to his genre choice, and kept enlarging his knowledge about literature and numerous other fields likewise. At the age of 23 he became a librarian - and his sanctuary became the place he had his first encounter with his new great interest: the theory of magic.
Although incapable of performing magic himself, he still found the books wildly interesting. It felt like an entire new world unraveling in front of him; like a series one could not put down - only this was more than real. It was both fascinating and terrifying, the thought such power could actually be in some maniac's hands. Eventually, soon after Malcolm turned 26, a witch hunter stood at his door, seeking help from somebody knowledgeable. That was how Malcolm became a guide.
Soon enough, he and the hunter became friends. Not only were they a good team, but also shared a couple of passions; it was this man who taught Malcolm how to shoot, and he supported him on the way to become a professional at what they were doing. It was a tough career, difficult to compromise with Malcolm's work at the library and his studies - but he could finally make his knowledge useful and that was enough of a reward.
Then, however, everything changed.
The hunter was murdered. He died a gruesome, gruesome death from a witch's hand, and all Malcolm's fears came true at once. Such power, a maniac's hands... And all he could do was bring the witch to the justice afterwards. This was when he decided to become a hunter himself.
He's been one for three years.
